The Body Shop Online

I only learnt quite recently that The Body Shop has an online store, when I went to one of their party plan events (which I didn’t know they did either till I was invited to one!).  The site is really well laid out in my opinion making it really easy to browse round and look at what’s available, as well as to do a direct search for a specific item if you want to.  Items are divided into categories such as makeup, bath & body, skincare, men’s, aromatherapy, hair, and gifts.

The Body Shop runs a loyalty scheme of sorts called a ‘love your body card’, and part of that is also available online – you have to purchase a card at £5 a year however from one of their stores (you can’t buy these online) but once you have one, it entitles you to a 10% discount both in store and online as well.  Obviously it’s worth having one of these cards if you’re looking at spending £50 or more in store or online within a 1 year period.

One really great thing about The Body Shop online is that when you go to view any of their products you get a lot of information about it.  You will find details of key ingredients and what they’re for, a full ingredients list (great if like me you have allergies!), instructions on how to use the product, and often tips on when best to use it, or what to use it along side for best results etc.  They also often run special deals where if you spend over a certain amount you’ll get a free gift.

They have an option for standard delivery charge, or express delivery – the prices for these vary according to what you are buying and how much it weighs, however they do offer free standard delivery if you spend over £20.  Thebodyshop.co.uk accepts Visa, MasterCard, Switch, Delta, Maestro and Solo. Gift Cards are not currently accepted as a form of payment online.  They’re gift certificates are not useable currently online, but only in their stores. 

VAT is included on all items, and their prices although a little higher than some places are actually very good when you think about how ethical a company this is – they do their best to make sure that products are sourced from places where the growers get a fair wage, they are against animal testing, support community fair trade, defend human rights and support the planet which makes them one of the most ethical beauty companies around.
