The Halfords Website

Halfords sells items for cars, - in car entertainment, kids car seats, alloy wheels, car cleaning & maintainence products, and other car accessories, they also sell adult and kids bikes, and a selection of ourdoor toys for kids, and some camping gear – from tents to roof boxes and bike carriers.  Halfords also do a range of paper goods – insurance, breakdown cover and even a credit card all of which are available through their website.

The site is laid out so you can search for what you want directly, or you can browse a particular department to find what you are looking for.  The layout makes it fairly easy to find items, and everything has at least one good image of it on the site, along with details of whether it’s in stock and it’s cost.

Delivery costs are not quite as straightforward as on some sites, charge depends on the size of the product ordered.  You only pay one delivery charge irrespective of the number of products ordered, so, if you order 2 or more items that fall into different categories, the higher charge will apply.  They divide items into 5 categories, goods small enough to be sent by royal mail £3.99, smaller goods too big or heavy to be sent by royal mail £4.99, medium sized goods £6.99, larger goods £9.99 and large bulky goods £14.99 other than the first category all the others are sent by courier.  One good thing is that when you view any item, before you put it in your shopping cart, you can see which category it comes under.

Payment can be made by most major credit or debit cards at Halfords.co.uk, but sadly they don’t accept  Halfords gift vouchers, or highstreet vouchers which are useable only in their highstreet stores. 

On the Halfords website is an advice centre which not only has all your normal terms and conditions for returns and postage costs etc. but it also has some how to guides, and some hints and tips for some of their products, as well as a jargon buster so you can figure out all the technical terms they use on the site for some items.
